Rev. K.W. Tulloss is the newly appointed President of the L.A. Headquarters. NAN is one of the leading civil rights organizations in the nation and works an agenda that promotes one standard of justice, decency and equal opportunities for all people, regardless of race, religion, national origin and gender. Its membership is open to all persons and entities who want to ensure that a nation lives up to it constitutional promises. They are among the keepers of the Dream that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his life for.
While Al Sharpton addressed the audience he acknowledged the recent “hate crime” in the City of Compton where a black family was assaulted by a gang of latino males, and caused the family to move from the house they had just moved into. He said that there is no place for that kind of activity in our communities. Blacks and browns have the same issues when it comes to suffering from the injustices of un-employment, work discrimination, poor education, incarceration, and other injustices that affect both races.
NAN focuses on several initiatives that include Social Justice, Criminal Justice, Decency, Education, Anti-Violence, and Voter Protection. Rev. Sharpton and NAN have identified education as the civil rights issue of the 21st century – and has recently worked with conservatives and liberals alike to improve educational opportunities for all students.
Congratulations to Rev. Al Sharpton, NAN, Rev. K.W. Tulloss and the Los Angeles Community. The L.A. NAN Office is located at 2828 W. Jefferson Blvd., L.A., CA. 90018. For more information call 323-521-3977 or email kw [email protected]
