However, honestly if you don’t know by now who you want to vote for as President on November 3rd – I think you have some serious soul searching to do! After personally seeing where this country has come from in the civil rights movement of the 60’s to the division we find ourselves in today…any person who is eligible to vote, however chooses not to is in my opinion encouraging division, fear, and dis-trust, among our society.
I have been around this world and have seen how other governments work. In many countries the citizen’s don’t have the liberties that we have in the U.S., and while our system is far from perfect (and that’s an understatement) the U.S. democracy is the centerpiece that most civilized nations want to replicate. But when citizens don’t participate in our democracy by exercising their right to vote – then the system is hijacked by special interest groups, and others who are only concerned about what they can get out of government, ends up controlling the agenda for the country – instead of the system working for everyone!
Our country just lost a civil rights icon in Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. However most American citizens don’t know the names or personalities of the local Judges on their ballots. But, they continue to complain about youth, and others being victimized when it comes to justice. The propositions and initiatives on most voters’ ballots go unmarked because they are not understood…but those same policies are the ones complained about the most.
What many people don’t understand is that this November election is the most important action they can take in their lifetime to make a better nation and world for their children, and grandchildren. Don’t be on the wrong side of history…register to vote and VOTE on November 3rd!
